Caribelle Batik fashions and wall hangings are made using 100% Sea Island Cotton. This is one of the finest cottons in the world and with proper care your batik will give you years of pleasure.

The first time you wash your batik, we recommend hand-washing separately in HOT water and MILD detergent (we recommend Woolite). Using hot water will ensure that any traces of excess dye or wax are removed. Hot water will NOT shrink or fade the batik. Our boiling process guarantees that the items are 100% pre-shrunk and colourfast. {See Demonstration Tour) . Rinse until water runs clear.

After this initial wash your batik may be machine washed with similar colours at any temperature. However, if you prefer, you may continue to hand-wash your batik. If dried in a dryer our items will need little ironing. Otherwise, we recommend using the hot setting on your iron for best results. Caribelle batik can also be dry cleaned.

Never use bleach or harsh detergents with bleaching or whitening agents.

The more your batik is washed, the softer the fabric becomes. This means that your Caribelle Batik is guaranteed to be comfortable and to satisfy you for years to come.
